Introduction
Welcome to One Defiant Heart Poetry. I hope you read the offerings on these pages and take from them a spark to ignite the fire of defiance in your own heart.
It's all about Dylan Thomas' poem - "Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night." We lose so much...the world loses so much when we just sink into old age --and passively assist the process of decay. We buy into the movie the society shoots for us/about us. We let others define this and every time of our lives. And we end up isolating our true being behind the walls of a façade behind which we allow ourselves to be imprisoned.
I have accepted the role others have written in my story for too long. Time now to do the things I didn't do before because I was trying to please my fellow travelers. I choose now to write a new part for myself....and produce and direct myself in the best part I'll ever play!
It looks like I'm turning my "plowshares" back into swords. That is true in many ways. It is time to allow a little "creative anger" to come forward in the inner crowd that is my life story. I was so busy being "good" and "nice" and turning the other cheek that I missed the other side of creativity...creative destruction.creative anger. No creative process can occur unless and until a chunk of the old creation is torn down. I don't mind having a few plowshares around....They have their uses.....But, when Decay is knocking at the gate, when it is time to put the POW back in self-emPOWered, it is handy to have a nice sharp sword!!!!! In the words of Drowning Pool - "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor!"
Time to Rock 'N RAGE!!!!! ("Rage! Rage! Against the dying of the light!")
Keep checking in. You can even submit your own stuff. Like it or not, more will follow!!!
Have a kick-ass day!!
